What is most important in an education? What is the reason for education? What is my role as mentor? What is my children’s role? What should I include?
With something as big and broad and important as home education, it can be hard to know where to begin. And many automatically think of academic subjects first when thinking about homeschool. And, of course, those are important. But I think a home environment of learning becomes easier with certain mindsets and understanding.
I invite you to listen in to this playlist from my youtube channel (premiered in August!) as I share some important mindsets that can make your home environment of learning one that inspires! It includes 5 videos with a total time of about 22 1/2 minutes.

This playlist can help new beginners as they get started on homeschooling, public school parents wanting to create a family culture of learning, and everybody, really, because it starts the conversation inside yourself about your own why, your own important lessons besides academics that you want your children to learn, your own ideas about what your role is and what your student’s role is. All of this starts a conversation within and helps you discover and refine your own views and ideas.
If you understand your why of homeschooling, the what becomes easier to define. If you define your role and your student’s role, it’s easier to pinpoint a starting point to improve and influence the culture of learning in your home. And if you cultivate a family culture in your home that supports a home environment of learning, then any academics and school-y stuff becomes easier and more effective.
